My top 5 phones of 2023 – Kaloyan

Let’s start with me acknowledging that having access to all sorts of phones is a privilege few enjoy and even fewer can do on a regular basis. And we, the reviewers, are surely spoiled in this aspect. It is certainly one of the best parts of the job. But as the year 2023 comes to a close, I can say one thing for sure – this was one of the worst years for smartphones. Plagued by various wars (trade, patent, territory, religion), an innovation stalemate, and a global recession, it was only natural for the whole industry to slow down and play it safe. And safe it was across all major...

Resident Evil 4 for iPhone review

Resident Evil 4 has a special place in gaming history. Released back in 2005 for the GameCube and later for the PlayStation 2, it was a paragon of the third-person survival horror genre with its incredibly tense action sequences, amazing level design, terrifying enemies, and memorable characters and writing. It carved a niche for itself and it was for many — including myself — their favorite installment in the series. Having played that version on a PS2 all those years ago, I was genuinely stoked to see it getting a proper remaster earlier this year along the lines of Resident Evil...

2023 brought us several hundred new smartphones, some more popular than others. Now that we turn to 2024, it’s time to have a revisit which were the best performers by a very important criteria - their popularity among you, our readers. Here are the Top 20 phones that you searched for the most over the last 12 months. Obviously, the list is dominated by the launches from the first half of the year - those had more time to rack up the page views, but some late arrivals did so well they still managed to crack the top 20. 2023 Winners and losers: Honor

The past twelve months have been a massive success for Honor, especially in China. The company quickly filled the gap that was left by its former parent Huawei, and is currently number 1 in two major categories at home – most smartphones sold and most foldables sold. Domestic success is generally a healthy indication that the company is ready to expand overseas, and the past twelve months have been a testament to Honor's dedication to becoming once again a leading player in international markets. The Honor handsets arrived in India, another big achievement, under the management of...

Xiaomi already released its flagships with a HyperOS interface, and now we got to see the logo that many smartphone fans will see soon on their mobile phones, wearables, and even cars in the near future. My top 4 phones of 2023 - Prasad

2023 was a bit of a surprise. If you had asked me at the beginning of the year for this list, I wouldn't have included most of them, even if I knew they were coming. One, in particular, caught me completely by surprise and every time I mention it to people I have to emphasize just how serious I am about liking this device, lest they think I'm joking. The four devices listed below were the ones that naturally came to mind while writing this down. I could have included one more for the sake of a more pleasing top 5 list but everything else I used this year had at least one annoying quirk...

We only included models that were launched in 2023 and which we reviewed so you'll notice that buds from Samsung, Apple and some other big names are absent. We'd also like to hear which TWS buds impressed you in the past year, so feel free to share your opinion in the comments section. Sony WF-1000XM5 Apart from their absurdly long...

It isn't, however, an LTPO panel, so it will only switch between 60 Hz and 120 Hz, no other steps. At the helm sits Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is getting a bit long in the tooth now that the 8 Gen 3 is already out, isn't it? Redmi has outright named it in its newest teaser posts over on X, and it's even got a special website teasing the launch. Also as usual, Zack from the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything has taken out the tools and subjected the Red Magic 9 Pro to his customary 'durability test' to see how it can withstand scratches, burns, and bends. Samsung Galaxy A55 runs Geekbench with Exynos 1480 SoC, Xclipse 530 GPU confirmed

Last week we saw a Geekbench run from the Galaxy A55's SoC, but it wasn't in the Galaxy A55 - it was using some kind of test platform. Today, that changes, as a prototype of the A55 itself has also made it onto Geekbench, and this confirms the interesting GPU choice Samsung's made. The A55's chipset is widely believed to be marketed as Exynos 1480, following, of course, in the footsteps of the 1380 seen in the A54 and the 1280 in the A53. Unlike those, however, the new one won't use a Mali GPU, instead opting for an AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, which has been confirmed by today's...
